We audit your CIP processes

1 - Water Savings Audit

In the face of the constant reduction of water resources and the increasing restrictions from the administration, it is essential to undertake in-depth actions to reduce the water consumptions and the factory discharges. To this end, we conduct instrumented audit missions with the following main objectives:

1. Create a detailed mapping of water consumption as close to usage as possible: indeed, it is essential to base decisions on a good assessment of the situation: what volumes and sources of water are consumed? how much and where? This requires having an analysis framework that covers at least 85% of consumption, including the identification of any end user representing at least 5% of the site's bill.

2. We must then question the reasons behind these consumptions and propose other modes of use or alternative technical solutions that can reduce the need, as well as recycling and REUSE solutions. This requires quantifying the gains, estimating the investments and profitability of each project while assessing the quality risk. This leads us to assist the industry in prioritizing its choices through decision matrices.

3.It is then necessary to establish a measurement plan that will allow the company to build a reliable monitoring system and have indicators to quickly detect deviations. We also create models of consumption profiles, which can be used for predictive purposes in particular.

4. In some cases, these missions can also lead to the development of water consumption reduction plans, particularly during periods of drought.

2 - Audit & Support: cleaning in place (CIP)

The cleaning operations audit offer aims to study your current practices and define possible optimization pathways for your CIP processes, including necessary investments, sources of savings, and profitability.

The ambition of this approach is both to enhance quality control and to reduce costs.

Elodys International offers each client a solution tailored to his needs, based on the issues encountered: technical mastery of NEP installations, management of NEP, optimal configuration of CIP (TACT: Contact time, Mechanical action, Chemical, Temperature), reduction of effluents and pollution at the source, …

The main challenge is to determine the economic and environmental impacts of in-situ cleaning on the site and to provide suggestions for improvement. This involves monitoring:

  • the water consumption of the site and cleaning,
  • the consumption of chemical products (alkaline and acidic detergents),
  • the energy consumption of the site and cleaning,
  • the pollution generated by the site and by the NEP (pollution mapping),
  • practices implemented at the level of the NEPs.

Elodys International implements its innovative expertise, particularly with the Green CIP and OptiClean solutions, in order to offer optimization pathways that include breakthrough solutions.

We can also offer our clients real performance contracts through which we commit to standing by their side to guarantee the final result.

Video Christian Maisonneuve, former Industrial and Quality Director of the Danone Group

“Integrating cleaning management into a continuous improvement framework significantly enhances all aspects of performance (safety, quality, costs, employee motivation).”

Christian Maisonneuve, former industrial and quality director of the Danone group

Olivier BARRAULT had the opportunity to collaborate for several years with Christian Maisonneuve as part of an ambitious program to improve the industrial performance of the Danone Group, one of the foundations of which was the implementation of a method inspired by Lean Manufacturing, which was named "DAMAWAY".

Christian Maisonneuve illustrates in this interview the importance of the direct and indirect stakes of cleaning processes and procedures in the agri-food industry, particularly in terms of performance management, as the cleaning in place represents a strong convergence point for many key functions of the company.

As Christian Maisonneuve points out in this video, the topic of washing processes is extremely unifying and potentially central to guiding teams on the path to industrial performance, and therefore continuous improvement. Thus, the process of improving washing practices and the need for all stakeholders (Quality, Production, Maintenance, Projects, Environment) to question their practices leads to obvious direct gains, but also numerous indirect benefits.

Improving CIP processes, structured in a Lean approach, will make it possible to unite skills and develop all the synergies inherent in good management, that is to say, management which is organized first and foremost at the local level.

We warmly recommend reading the book published by Christian Maisonneuve: "The performance of the Company, a love story", a practical guide for managers for the 2020s.
